Withstands 220°C for 60,000 Hours… Toray Advanced Materials Targets North America with Insulation Material
Targeting Demand from AI Data Centers and Power Infrastructure
Toray Advanced Materials is targeting the North American power materials market by highlighting its meta-aramid paper.
According to Toray Advanced Materials on May 7, the company is participating in the power industry exhibition 'IEEE PES T&D 2026,' which is being held in Chicago, USA from May 4 to May 7, where it is showcasing its meta-aramid paper.
Meta-aramid paper is a high-performance material that offers heat resistance and electrical insulation, capable of withstanding temperatures of up to 220 degrees Celsius for more than 60,000 hours. It is recognized as a core material that enhances the safety and efficiency of power equipment, while also being suitable for the miniaturization and high-efficiency of such equipment.
Toray Advanced Materials plans to strengthen its strategy in the North American market through this exhibition. In North America, demand for high-performance insulation materials is rapidly increasing due to the expansion of artificial intelligence (AI) data centers and the growing need to replace aging power infrastructure.
In addition, Toray Advanced Materials is presenting a laminating solution that combines dry-process-based meta-aramid paper with polyester film. Through this, the company aims to enhance customers' design efficiency and process stability, and to further expand its presence in the next-generation power equipment insulation materials market.
