Busan Port New Gamman Pier Cranes to Undergo Safety Enhancement
Busan Port Authority Launches 7.1 Billion Won Maintenance Project
Container cranes at the New Gamman Pier in Busan Port will undergo maintenance to enhance safety.
On May 6, Busan Port Authority (BPA) announced it will invest a total of 7.1 billion won to launch maintenance work aimed at securing crane safety.
The project will focus primarily on the maintenance of mechanical and electrical facilities. It will also include inspection services to monitor the construction process, as well as technical guidance for accident prevention. The construction period is expected to last about eight months.
The authority explained that this initiative is a measure to improve the reliability of cranes, which are key facilities for container handling at Busan Port.

Song Sangkeun, President of Busan Port Authority, emphasized, "This is an effort to increase crane safety," adding, "We will carry out the project without any setbacks to create a safe port environment."
