Korea Gas Corporation, Korea Deposit Insurance Corporation, and Korea Research Institute for Human Settlements Selected as Outstanding Disclosure Institutions
Ministry of Economy and Finance Approves Results of Integrated Disclosure Inspection
No Institutions Designated as Under Caution or Inadequate Disclosure
Korea Gas Corporation, Korea Deposit Insurance Corporation, and Korea Research Institute for Human Settlements have been selected as outstanding disclosure institutions.
The Ministry of Economy and Finance announced on May 6 that, on April 30, Second Vice Minister Heo Jang presided over the fifth Public Institutions Operation Committee meeting for 2026, where the "2025 Integrated Public Institutions Disclosure Inspection Results and Follow-Up Measures" were approved.
The management disclosure system for public institutions, established in 2007 under the Act on the Management of Public Institutions, requires all public institutions to disclose key management information through a public system. The Ministry of Economy and Finance regularly inspects the state of disclosures each year to enhance the reliability of the information provided.
As a result of this inspection, 18 institutions were recognized as outstanding disclosure institutions for not having received any penalty points for integrated disclosures for three consecutive years (or two years for other public institutions). These institutions are Korea Gas Corporation, Jeju Free International City Development Center, SR Co., Ltd., Korea Deposit Insurance Corporation, Korea Post Logistics Support Foundation, National Institute of Ecology, Korea Forest Welfare Institute, Korea Occupational Safety and Health Agency, Korea Research Institute for Human Settlements, Northeast Asian History Foundation, Busan Port Authority, Korea Energy Economics Institute, Industrial Bank of Korea, Korea Center on Gambling Problems, Korea Invention Promotion Association, Korea Food Industry Cluster Promotion Agency, Korea SMEs and Startups Distribution Center, and Korea Intellectual Property Strategy Agency. This is an increase of four institutions compared to the previous year.
Institutions that improved their disclosure performance by reducing penalty points by more than 50% for two consecutive years totaled 14, including Kyungpook National University Hospital, Korea Agency of Education, Promotion and Information Service in Food, Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries, Korea Institute of Planning and Evaluation for Technology in Food, Agriculture and Forestry, Korea Communications Agency for Viewers, KORAIL Tech Co., Ltd., Institute for the Translation of Korean Classics, Korea Expressway Corporation Service Co., Ltd., Korea Legislation Research Institute, National Human Resources Development Institute for Health and Welfare, Korea Health Industry Development Institute, Korea Water and Wastewater Works Association, Korea Fisheries Infrastructure Public Agency, Korean Women's Development Institute, and Korea Research Institute for Vocational Education and Training.
A representative from the Ministry of Economy and Finance stated, "In the 2023 inspection, for the first time since the introduction of the integrated disclosure inspection system, no institutions were designated as being under caution or as having inadequate disclosures, which demonstrates continuous improvement in the quality of public institution disclosure information." The official added, "This is the result of both the government and public institutions working together to raise the quality of disclosure information, through tailored education and consulting for underperforming institutions and incentives for outstanding disclosure institutions."
The ministry plans to reflect the results of this inspection in the management performance assessments of public enterprises and quasi-government institutions, as well as in the evaluations conducted by supervisory ministries for other public institutions. Outstanding disclosure institutions will be granted incentives such as exemption from disclosure inspections and preferential treatment in management evaluations for the following year.
