S-OIL announced on May 6 that it has been selected as a 'World' company for the 16th consecutive year in the Dow Jones Business Investment Criteria (DJBIC) top-tier index for 2025. S-OIL is the first refiner in both Korea and the Asian region to achieve 16 consecutive years as a DJBIC World company.
DJBIC is an assessment index developed by S&P Global since 1999, which comprehensively evaluates over 2,500 global companies annually in terms of governance structure, supply chain management, environmental performance, and human resource development, measuring sustainability from economic, social, and environmental perspectives.
A representative from S-OIL stated, "Based on global-level management transparency and an excellent ESG management system, our exemplary achievements in ESG risk management, stakeholder communication, and advanced carbon management have been recognized, leading to our selection as a DJBIC World company for 16 consecutive years." The representative added, "We are establishing a long-term sustainability management roadmap and pursuing key initiatives such as responding to climate change, managing safety and environmental pollutants, strengthening employee capabilities, and expanding social contribution activities."
The representative continued, "We are currently constructing the Shaheen Project, aiming for completion this year, and we expect the facility's superior energy efficiency compared to competitors' facilities to further strengthen the company's sustainability management capabilities."
