Last year, it became the first district among Seoul's autonomous districts to receive the higher-level re-certification as a UNICEF Child-Friendly City.
The district has established a foundation for children to directly propose policies and participate in district administration through initiatives such as the Children and Youth Council and participatory budgeting. It has also promoted projects for care services, child rights education, and the creation of a child-friendly environment.
Student Lee Hael, who was selected as an outstanding contributor in the field of child welfare, has served as a member of the Dobong District Children and Youth Council and proposed policies related to culture and the arts. The student also participated in child rights advocacy activities, contributing to raising awareness within the local community.
