Reducing Carbon and Increasing Recycled Materials... LG TV Earns Three Consecutive ESG Certifications
LG OLED TV Achieves Carbon Footprint Certification for Six Consecutive Years
Expected to Reduce Plastic Usage by 15,000 Tons Compared to LCD TVs
LG Electronics’ 2026 TV lineup has consecutively obtained three ESG-related certifications—including carbon reduction, plastic reduction, and use of recycled materials—from leading domestic and international certification bodies.
The 2026 LG OLED TV recently received the 'Carbon Footprint' certification from the Carbon Trust, a UK-based non-profit certification organization. With this, the LG OLED TV, regarded as a leading premium TV model, has achieved the Carbon Footprint certification for six consecutive years since 2021, demonstrating its ESG competitiveness.
LG Electronics' TVs have consecutively obtained ESG-related certifications, including carbon reduction, plastic reduction, and use of recycled materials. In particular, the LG OLED TV G6 model received both the Carbon Trust's 'Carbon Footprint' certification and Intertek's 'Resource Efficiency Certification.' LG Electronics

All new OLED models (W6/G6/C6/B6) released by LG Electronics this year have received the 'Resource Efficiency Certification' from Intertek, a global testing and certification body, proving the sustainability of these products.
This certification can only be awarded if a product meets rigorous requirements in ▲material use efficiency (such as recycled design, reduction of hazardous substances, and ease of repair), ▲energy efficiency, and ▲the use of recycled materials, thereby proving the product’s sustainability.
OLED TVs require fewer components than LCD TVs because they do not need a separate backlight. LG Electronics has further reduced material use by applying lightweight composite fiber materials to its OLED TVs, resulting in a 40% reduction in plastic usage compared to major brand LCD TVs of the same size. As a result, LG Electronics expects to use approximately 15,000 tons less plastic for manufacturing OLED TVs this year compared to producing an equivalent number of LCD TVs.
In addition to OLED TVs, LG Electronics’ premium LCD TV, the Micro RGB Evo, has also obtained the Resource Efficiency Certification, recognized for its excellent energy-efficient design and other features.
LG Electronics continues to prove the sustainability of its products by obtaining ESG-related certifications both internationally and domestically. Along with the 2026 LG OLED Evo (OLED55C6, OLED48C6, OLED42C6), the recently launched and well-received 32-inch portable screen 'LG StanbyME2 Max' has been selected as an 'Excellent E-circulation Product' by Korea E-Circulation Governance for four consecutive years, recognized for its excellence in resource circulation.
LG Electronics is expected to recycle 7,700 tons of waste plastic in its TV products this year. From 2023 through last year, LG Electronics applied recycled plastics to various TV products, utilizing a total of 20,000 tons of waste plastic during this period.
