VC Association Recruiting Teams for This Year’s University and Graduate Student Venture Investment Competition
Practical Venture Investment Training and VC Internship Opportunities
Domestic Champion Team to Compete in VCIC Global Finals
The Korea Venture Capital Association (VC Association) announced on April 27 that it is recruiting teams to participate in the "2026 University (Graduate) Student Venture Investment Competition Korea (UVICK)" as part of the Ministry of SMEs and Startups' "VC Advancement Project." Since domestic teams recently demonstrated achievements in global competitions from the very first year of their participation, there is a growing trend to continuously expand practical training and global linkage programs.
According to the VC Association, this competition allows participants to analyze startups from the perspective of actual venture capitalists, establish strategies, prepare investment review reports, review terms, and make investment decisions, experiencing the entire process as if in a real-world setting. The focus is on cultivating practical skills in venture investment and helping participants explore career paths, moving beyond a simple presentation-style contest to a hands-on talent development program.
The application period runs until May 22. Undergraduate and graduate students, as well as students on leave of absence, are eligible to apply regardless of their major. Each team must consist of 5 to 6 members from the same university, and multiple teams from the same university are allowed to apply.
All participants will be given the opportunity to take part in an internship program linked to real-world experience in the venture capital industry. The VC Association will support matching participants with industry demand based on their resumes and plans to provide students aspiring to enter the venture capital sector with substantial field experience. Winning teams in the domestic competition will receive prize money and awards. In particular, the champion team will be granted the right to participate in the "VCIC (Venture Capital Investment Competition) Global Finals."
A representative from the VC Association stated, "The team from Korea University, representing Korea this year, achieved remarkable results by ranking among the final Top 6 teams at the '2026 VCIC Global Finals' held at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill on April 17-18," adding, "This demonstrates that UVICK has established itself as a platform to validate investment capabilities at a global level, beyond just the domestic stage."
