The corporation was highly recognized for its achievements in work innovation in the field of drones. Korea Airports Corporation independently developed and implemented the nation's first 'Automated National Drone Flight Approval Review System.' Through this, the previous flight approval review process, which used to take two to three days, was improved to real time, significantly reducing the time required for administrative services for the public.
In addition, the corporation provided the 'Drone Flight Zone Notification Map,' which allows drone operators to check no-fly zones in advance. This has been evaluated as helping to prevent unnecessary flight applications and penalty charges for the public, as well as reducing illegal drone flights.
Going forward, the corporation plans to gradually expand the implementation of this system to airports nationwide, and to continue innovating airport operations and citizen-oriented services through AI transformation (AX) and digital transformation. Last October, the corporation was selected as an 'AI Leading Institution' in the public SOC sector and has been continuously expanding digital transformation initiatives, such as providing real-time guidance on available parking spaces using LiDAR technology.
