Changnyeong County Mobilizes All Efforts for Resident Living Support Funds Distribution
First Round of High Oil Price Relief Begins April 27
Gyeongnam Resident Support Fund Distribution Starts April 30
Changnyeong County in South Gyeongsang Province is making every effort to ensure the smooth distribution of high oil price damage relief funds and Gyeongnam resident living support funds, which are being provided to stabilize the lives of residents currently struggling due to rising international oil prices and increasing cost-of-living burdens.
The county expects that these support funds will help reduce the financial burden on residents and contribute to the recovery of the local economy. To this end, an emergency task force team has been formed with Acting County Governor Shim Sangcheol as its head. The team is taking a proactive approach in all areas, from verifying eligible recipients and providing application guidance, to inspecting the IT system and establishing a civil complaint response system.
Accordingly, the county is carrying out tasks such as updating the list of eligible recipients, producing promotional materials, and providing on-site customer service training, with township and town administrative welfare centers and relevant departments at the center of these efforts. The production of paper-based Changnyeong Sarang Gift Certificates and prepaid cards, which are the main distribution methods, as well as stickers indicating where they can be used, has been completed. In addition, a promotional video for residents will be produced and posted on the county’s official YouTube channel and other social media platforms.
The high oil price damage relief funds will be distributed to basic livelihood security recipients and lower-income households in the first round, from April 27 to May 8, 2026. The support amount is 600,000 won for basic livelihood security recipients and 500,000 won for lower-income and single-parent households. In the second round, from May 18 to July 3, 2026, 200,000 won will be provided to residents in the bottom 70% income bracket. Recipients can choose among Changnyeong Sarang Gift Certificates, credit or debit cards, or prepaid cards as their method of receiving the funds.
The Gyeongnam resident living support funds will be provided to all residents (based on resident registration as of March 18, 2026) from April 30 to June 30, 2026. Each person will receive 100,000 won, and the distribution methods include Changnyeong Sarang Gift Certificates, credit or debit cards (NongHyup – Kyongnam Bank), and prepaid cards.
