"Now It's Gangwon, Not Seoul"
Gangwon's Unique Allure Captivates American Travelers
The Gangwon Tourism Foundation (hereinafter referred to as "the Foundation") will participate in the "2026 US B2B K-Tourism Roadshow," which will be held in San Francisco and Dallas, United States, from April 28 to 30, 2026, to launch full-scale marketing activities aimed at attracting tourists from the Americas.
This roadshow, hosted by the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism and the Korea Tourism Organization, serves as a strategic bridge designed to convert the widespread K-Culture craze across North America into tangible demand for travel to Korea.
During the roadshow, which the Foundation will attend jointly with the Korea Tourism Organization, the Foundation will deliver a Gangwon tourism presentation to key figures in the local tourism industry, focusing on promoting the province's unique content. The Foundation will also build close networks with local travel agencies and airlines and participate in "one-on-one business consultations" between Korean and American travel industries, proposing differentiated tourism products exclusive to Gangwon to accelerate its entry into the local market.
This participation is particularly significant as it marks the Foundation’s first direct, independent promotional effort targeting the US market since its establishment. Starting with this roadshow, the Foundation plans to actively expand its marketing strategy, previously centered on Asia, to the Americas.
Through these efforts, the Foundation aims to promote the "2026 Visit Gangwon Year" globally, enhance the quantitative growth and diversification of international tourists beyond any single country, and elevate Gangwon as a world-renowned tourist destination.

Choi Sunghyun, CEO of the Gangwon Tourism Foundation, stated, "The United States is a high value-added market with long average stays and high spending by inbound tourists. It is also a strategic stronghold that must be secured to globalize Gangwon tourism. By participating in our first US roadshow, we aim to firmly establish Gangwon as the K-Global Tourism Capital across the Americas and create a pivotal turning point for publicizing the 2026 Visit Gangwon Year worldwide."
