According to Jang Gwanho’s campaign on April 25, the launch ceremony for the election committee and the opening ceremony, held at 1:00 p.m. at the election office in Seo-gu, Gwangju Metropolitan City, drew a large crowd, including figures from the education sector, civil society representatives, parents, and local residents, demonstrating the event’s passionate atmosphere.

The initial ceremony began with a report on the composition and status of the committee, followed by the presentation of appointment letters to the co-chairs and remarks from the standing chairperson, officially formalizing the structure of the election camp.
The subsequent opening ceremony began with congratulatory video messages and performances. Notably, students, parents, and other stakeholders from the front lines of education took the microphone themselves, directly voicing their experiences and supporting Jang’s educational philosophy of being “field-centered.”

The highlight of the event was the vision presentation from provisional candidate Jang Gwanho. In his greeting, Jang stressed, “All education must begin in the field, and above all, it is essential to carefully reflect diverse voices in policy-making.”
He continued, “Because labor and education are the solid foundation of our society, I will ensure a transformation toward customized education tailored to each child’s life and pace.”

Referring to the “Jeonnam-Gwangju Integrated Citizens’ Nomination Committee General Meeting and Policy Conference for Democratic and Progressive Superintendent Candidates” held earlier that morning, he described it as “a very important starting point for a major educational transformation.”
He emphasized, “Unification must never be a process of weighing the pros and cons for any particular candidate, but rather a sacred journey in which the direction of our children’s education is determined entirely by the will of the citizens.” He pledged, “I will see through a fair and transparent unification process, led by the citizens, to the very end,” drawing enthusiastic support from attendees.
