Gumi Chamber of Commerce and Industry Holds Supervisor Training for Industrial Accident Prevention
40% Training Fee Discount Offered to Member Companies
The Gumi Chamber of Commerce and Industry in North Gyeongsang Province (Chairman: Yoon Jaeho) and the Gyeongbuk Branch of the Korea Association of Safety Technology (Branch Chief: Seo Hoon) held a "Supervisor Training for Industrial Accident Prevention" at the medium-sized conference room on the first floor of the Gumi Chamber of Commerce and Industry on April 23, with 40 supervisors in attendance.
This training was a statutory mandatory course for on-site supervisors based on Articles 29 and 16 of the Occupational Safety and Health Act. The course focused on strengthening the safety and health competencies required at industrial sites. In addition to recognition for completing eight hours of training, member companies of the Gumi Chamber of Commerce and Industry were offered a training fee discount of approximately 40%.
The training session was led by Yoon Chunsik, a member of the Korea Association of Safety Technology, as well as Seo Hoon, Gyeongbuk Branch Chief, and Jo Seulgi, Gyeongbuk Branch Manager. Topics that could be immediately applied in the field were covered, including ▲Cases of mechanical and electrical safety accidents ▲Prevention of job-related stress ▲Roles and responsibilities of supervisors.

Shim Gyujeong, head of the Economic Research and Corporate Attraction Team at the Gumi Chamber of Commerce and Industry, stated, "With the enforcement of the Serious Accidents Punishment Act, companies' interest in and demand for education on industrial accident prevention and the spread of a safety culture have been steadily increasing," adding, "We will support companies in strengthening their overall competencies by providing a variety of work-related training, including in the field of industrial safety."
