Guri City Expands Public Transportation Fare Support... 1.37 Billion Won Allocated to K-Pass and Climate Companion Card
Alleviating Citizens' Transportation Cost Burden Due to Rising Fuel Prices
Strengthening Practical Support
Guri City in Gyeonggi Province announced on April 24 that it will allocate a total of 1.37 billion won to increase K-Pass subsidies and expand additional support for the Climate Companion Card, with the aim of easing the transportation cost burden on citizens caused by the recent rise in fuel prices and encouraging the use of public transportation.
This measure is being implemented as part of a transportation welfare policy designed to provide tangible financial benefits to public transportation users and alleviate household expenses for citizens.
Guri City is promoting both the government's K-Pass differential reimbursement for off-peak commuting times and Seoul City's additional reimbursement support for the Climate Companion Card to provide public transportation support that citizens can truly feel.
To this end, the city has urgently allocated 1.37 billion won in the second supplementary budget to ensure smooth implementation of public transportation fare support.
In particular, K-Pass applies differential reimbursement rates for groups with a relatively high transportation cost burden, such as young people and low-income households, which is expected to have an even greater effect on reducing living expenses. Detailed reimbursement rates can be found on the K-Pass website.
An official from Guri City said, "We have decided to expand our public transportation support policy to ease the economic burden on citizens caused by the recent rise in fuel prices," adding, "We will continue our efforts to enable citizens to use public transportation at a more reasonable cost by strengthening support for K-Pass and the Climate Companion Card."
The official added, "We will also continue to identify and implement transportation welfare policies that citizens can truly feel."
