Both 'Cargo Solidarity Fatality' Driver and 'Police Barricade Ramming' Union Member Arrested
Both the driver who hit union members with a cargo truck and the union member who rammed a police barricade with a van, injuring a police officer at the Cargo Solidarity rally organized by the Public Transport Union under the Korean Confederation of Trade Unions, have been taken into custody.
On April 23, Lee Jiwoong, the presiding judge in charge of warrants at the Jinju Branch of the Changwon District Court in Gyeongnam, issued arrest warrants for two individuals: Mr. A, a non-union member in his 40s charged with murder and other offenses, and Mr. B, a Cargo Solidarity union member in his 60s charged with obstruction of official duties with special circumstances, after completing pre-arrest interrogations for both suspects.
Judge Lee determined that both individuals posed a flight risk and could potentially destroy evidence.
