Under the agreement, a total of 32 temple stays will be held by the end of November, with 100 children and parents who are beneficiaries of the Dream Start program participating.
For each session, two to three families (each consisting of two to four members) will spend one night and two days at Daegwangsa Temple on scheduled weekends, participating in nature-centered programs such as meditation, tea talks, making lotus lanterns, experiencing temple food, and walking on the Bulgoksan forest trail to cultivate mindfulness.
This program focuses on helping families communicate and strengthen their relationships by disconnecting from smartphones, apps, and various digital devices.
To this end, Seongnam City is allocating 10 million won for the project and will select participants by accepting applications from families with elementary school children who are eligible for the Dream Start program.
Daegwangsa Temple will be responsible for providing and operating the temple stay program, as well as ensuring participant safety.
