Gumi City Council Holds Special Personnel Hearing Committee Meeting
Candidate for President of Gumi Electronics and Information Technology Institute Foundation Deemed "Qualified" in Personnel Hearing Results
The Special Personnel Hearing Committee of the Gumi City Council in North Gyeongsang Province (Chairman So Jinhyeok) held a personnel hearing for the candidate for the President of the Gumi Electronics and Information Technology Institute Foundation (Moon Chuyun) during its third meeting on April 22, and adopted a personnel hearing report stating that the candidate was "qualified."
The committee conducted in-depth questions and answers regarding the candidate’s ability to perform duties, management capacity for research institutions, expertise in the electronics and information technology sector, and vision and policy direction for operating the institution.
The committee members positively evaluated the candidate for presenting measures to strengthen the competitiveness of local industries and promote technological innovation based on his understanding and experience in the electronics and information technology sector, as well as for expressing his commitment to efficient organizational management and expanded support for local businesses.
In particular, there was consensus on the candidate's various policy directions, such as revitalizing research and development in connection with regional strategic industries, upgrading the business support system, and creating technology-based jobs.

Meanwhile, the committee members pointed out the lack of science and cultural experience infrastructure for children and adolescents in Gumi, emphasizing the need to expand facilities that can provide attractions and foster imagination that citizens can tangibly appreciate.
They also highlighted the importance of building basic infrastructure, such as attracting a national science museum, and suggested that systematic efforts should be made to reflect the unique characteristics and demands of the region.
Furthermore, the committee pointed out the insufficient public promotion of the institution's projects and achievements, urging the development of more active strategies to reach citizens and the local community. They also requested ongoing improvement efforts to ensure these concerns are fully addressed in the future operation of the institution.
Chairman So Jinhyeok stated, "Since the Gumi Electronics and Information Technology Institute Foundation is a key institution responsible for enhancing the technological competitiveness of regional industries and supporting companies, we have made efforts to thoroughly verify the candidate’s expertise, integrity, and organizational management abilities. Especially as global technology competition intensifies, disruptive innovation centered on the utilization of artificial intelligence (AI) and AX is required, looking ahead to 2050."
