KICOX Redefines "Ways of Working" with AI
KICOX-AI Frontier Competition Launched
Fostering a Culture of Employee-Driven Innovation
The Korea Industrial Complex Corporation (KICOX) announced on April 23 that it will host the "2026 KICOX-AI Frontier Competition" to align with the government's policy of expanding artificial intelligence (AI) utilization in the public sector and to foster a culture in which employees proactively lead innovation in their work.
This competition aims not only to introduce AI tools into existing work, but also to fundamentally redesign work processes through artificial intelligence—a complete "redesign of work." The event will run for approximately three months until June 19, and all employees can freely form teams to participate. The goal is to discover practical AI application models across all areas of KICOX operations, from corporate support services to internal administrative efficiency.
In particular, a comprehensive support system will be put in place to help participating teams turn their innovative ideas into actual outcomes. To ensure smooth project execution, KICOX will provide access to necessary AI platforms and cover related training costs, enabling teams to enhance the quality of their ideas. In addition, through the "Idea Open Call" system, anonymous feedback from fellow employees will be collected, supporting the development of practical, field-oriented AI projects that reflect voices from the workplace.
The evaluation process will place high value not only on the completeness of the outcomes, but also on innovative attempts and the process itself. The final outstanding projects will be selected through peer review and verification of their potential for real-world application, and teams that achieve excellent results will receive awards. KICOX plans to actively implement the best practices discovered during this competition in actual operations, thereby embedding an "AI-based work culture" and providing high-quality public services that meet the demands of the digital transformation era.
