Union Biometrics Supplies Health Management Solution to Hanshin Engineering & Construction's LH Site
Union Biometrics has begun to actively target the market by supplying its facial recognition-based health management solution, 'Health ID,' to apartment construction sites.
On April 22, Union Biometrics announced that it would provide its worker health management solution to the LH public housing site being constructed by Hanshin Engineering & Construction. The solution will be applied to the Incheon Yeongjong A-24BL Apartment Construction Section 12. The company plans to expand the solution to various other construction sites, starting with this project.
Health ID utilizes facial recognition technology to monitor heart rate, cardiovascular indices, and abnormal health signs in real time without the need for physical contact with separate devices. By identifying any irregularities in workers’ conditions before work begins, the solution is expected to help reduce the risk of accidents caused by accumulated fatigue or illnesses.
Until now, safety management at construction sites has focused mainly on access control and CCTV monitoring. However, following the implementation of the Serious Accidents Punishment Act in 2022, employers' obligations regarding safety and health have been strengthened, leading to increased demand for preventive management, including workers’ health status. In response to this trend, Union Biometrics has proposed a safety management solution that goes beyond simple access control equipment by utilizing health data.
Union Biometrics is establishing an integrated safety management system that enhances operational efficiency and responsiveness on site by connecting attendance management systems, artificial intelligence (AI) CCTVs, and biometric kiosks. With this introduction, the company plans to accelerate its entry into the construction and industrial safety markets by considering expansion into urban renewal projects, roads, bridges, and other infrastructure construction.
