View original imageThe Gimpo Hangang 2 Compact City project aims to create a smart, self-sufficient city by enhancing urban self-reliance, securing wide-area transportation, and fostering specialized growth, making it a project expected to achieve qualitative development. Based on the district plan approval application, the project involves establishing a large-scale public housing district that will supply a total of 51,540 households on approximately 7.3 million square meters in Yangchon-eup, Janggi-dong, Masan-dong, and Unyang-dong in Gimpo City.
The newly established public-private-community council was formed to strengthen communication between relevant organizations and local residents regarding various issues that may arise during project implementation and to develop practical cooperation measures. The council includes relevant administrative agencies, the project developer (Korea Land and Housing Corporation), and representatives of local residents (the united committee of each district-level countermeasure committee).
The council plans to convene once every three months as a general principle and may hold additional meetings as needed through member consultation. It will continue to regularly discuss key issues such as project schedules, development plans, compensation procedures and methods, and resettlement strategies. In particular, it aims to prevent conflicts in advance by collecting diverse opinions from local residents and to promote transparent and efficient project execution.
At the first meeting, participants shared the council's operational direction and main agenda items, reaffirming their commitment to cooperation among participating organizations. Attendees agreed to actively work together so that the Gimpo Hangang 2 Compact City can become a core city in the northwestern metropolitan area.
