BYD Korea Adds 'Sea Lion 7 PLUS' Trim, Strengthening Premium Lineup
PLUS Trim Introduced with 2027 Model Launch
Enhanced Convenience Features Including Nappa Leather Seats and HUD
BYD Korea is accelerating its efforts to capture the domestic electric vehicle market by launching the PLUS trim, which adds a host of premium features.
On April 16, BYD Korea announced the launch of the new PLUS trim alongside the 2027 Sea Lion 7. This new trim enhances the existing Sea Lion 7’s spaciousness with an array of premium features aimed at increasing passenger satisfaction.
In particular, significant improvements have been made to the seat specifications. Instead of synthetic leather found in the standard model, the PLUS trim features genuine Nappa leather seats. It also offers a driver’s seat with memory function, four-way power lumbar support, and a power leg rest to reduce fatigue on long drives. An easy access feature for the driver’s seat, which automatically creates more space for entry and exit, has also been added.
The sound system has been upgraded with 12 speakers from the high-end audio brand Dynaudio. Driver-focused convenience features have also been enhanced, including a head-up display (HUD) that shows driving information on the windshield and automatically tilting outside mirrors when reversing.
Since its domestic debut in September last year, the Sea Lion 7 has sold over 4,700 units through March this year, establishing itself as BYD Korea’s flagship model. All trims come standard with a Qualcomm Snapdragon 8155 SoC, frequency-variable damping suspension, and a 2.1-square-meter panoramic glass roof.
The 2027 Sea Lion 7 is priced at 44.9 million won for the standard model and 46.9 million won for the PLUS trim. After applying national and local subsidies, the actual purchase price in Seoul is expected to be in the 42 million won and 44 million won ranges, respectively.
