Gyeonggi Marine Fisheries Resources Institute to Hold "Aquatic Animal Quarantine Training" on 21st-22nd
Gyeonggi-do will conduct quarantine training for aquatic animals.
The Gyeonggi-do Marine Fisheries Resources Research Institute announced on April 15 that it will provide quarantine training for fishermen and fishing site workers over two days, on the 21st and 22nd, to prevent aquatic animal infectious diseases and ensure a rapid response in the event of an outbreak.
The training will be held in person at the main auditorium of the Hwaseong City Agricultural Technology Center on the 21st, and at the Eum Modum Hall at Uijeongbu Culture Station on the 22nd.
The training is intended for those in the industry, including aquaculture farmers who have obtained licenses, permits, or registrations for aquatic animal farming; operators with facilities of at least 1,000 square meters who display and sell live aquatic animals; and those licensed to operate fishing sites.

View original imageAccording to relevant laws, those required to receive the training must complete at least six hours of training at least once every two years. The curriculum covers the basics of aquatic animal quarantine, disease management methods, quarantine measures, response protocols in the event of an infectious disease outbreak, and the use of aquatic animal medicines.
Participation in the training is possible through on-site registration on the day of the event without prior application. Kim Sungkon, Director of the Gyeonggi-do Marine Fisheries Resources Research Institute, stated, "I hope this quarantine training will enhance the prevention and management of aquatic animal infectious diseases, serving as an opportunity for the stable production and supply of aquatic products in the province."
