Financial planner Bang Heesik and Lee Gyubaek, CEO of a corporate client, who completed the 10-kilometer course together, shared the joy of finishing as they held hands at the finish line. CEO Lee said, "I first became connected with Kyobo Life Insurance as a customer, but now I receive great support from the company as a life partner in both business management and my overall life," adding, "Through this race, I was reminded once again how powerful it is to walk and run together with someone."
Bang, who is an Honorary Director among Kyobo Life Insurance’s financial planners, said, "It was meaningful to create precious memories by finishing the race together with a customer," and pledged, "I will continue to stand by my customers so that they can complete the race of life safely."
This "Companion Race" aligns with the "customer protection" management philosophy emphasized by Shin Chang-jae, CEO and Chairman of Kyobo Life Insurance. Shin has often compared life to a marathon, stating, "Just as a marathon has both uphills and downhills, life is a journey filled with joys and sorrows," and stressed, "Life insurance companies and planners must act as pacemakers so that customers can overcome adversity and complete their journey to the end." On the day of the event, Shin visited the site, personally greeted and encouraged customers, planners, and employees who finished the 10-kilometer course, and shared in the joy of completion by taking commemorative photos with the participants.
Throughout the event, more than 300 employees and planners formed a support team, running the "Kyobo Cheering Zone" to encourage the runners. Much like on-site support provided through hydration and injury checks, this was seen as a symbolic demonstration of life insurance’s role as a "social safety net" that provides financial support in unexpected crises.
