One Team to Be Selected After November Showcase
From Main Performance Production to Overseas Distribution
The Cultural Heritage Administration and the National Heritage Promotion Agency announced on March 30 that they will hold the 'K-Heritage Stage', a new works contest for certified practitioners of National Intangible Heritage performing arts.
This project aims to discover new works created based on National Intangible Heritage in line with the global expansion of K-content, and to provide step-by-step support for the production and distribution of performances.
Two teams selected in the first round will each receive a 20 million won creative grant and the opportunity to produce a showcase performance. Additional support will be provided through expert consulting, promotion and marketing, and the production of promotional materials to enhance the completeness of the works and their competitiveness in the market. The pilot performances will be held in November at the Korea House of Culture (KOUS).
One team selected through the showcase will receive a second-year creative grant of 40 million won, along with additional support for main performance production, advanced consulting, and participation in art markets for domestic and overseas distribution.
Kim Eunyoung, Head of Performance Promotion at the National Heritage Promotion Agency, stated, "We are not only discovering new works of traditional arts, but also providing support throughout the production and distribution process," adding, "We hope this will be an opportunity for performances based on National Intangible Heritage to engage with contemporary audiences."

Applications will be accepted from May 1 to May 10. Any team formed under the leadership of certified practitioners of National Intangible Heritage is eligible to apply. For more details, please refer to the National Heritage Promotion Agency website or contact the Performance Promotion Team.
