Daedong Reappoints Wonyuhyun as CEO... "Accelerating AI and Robotics in Agriculture"
Advancing Five Core Future Businesses Based on AI and Data
Accelerating Growth with a Focus on Execution
Daedong announced on the 26th that it held its 79th regular general shareholders' meeting and reappointed Wonyuhyun, Vice Chairman, as Co-CEO. His term will run until March 2029. With this reappointment, Daedong has established a stable leadership foundation to accelerate its future business initiatives.
Since being appointed CEO in 2020, Vice Chairman Wonyuhyun has focused on laying the groundwork for Daedong's transformation into a future-oriented agricultural company. He has positioned smart agricultural machinery, farming, and mobility as key growth strategies, and has established a direction to expand the business structure—previously centered on agricultural machinery—toward a data- and software-driven model through enterprise-wide digital transformation (DT).
Since 2023, he has accelerated the realization of future business initiatives. He commercialized agricultural robotics and precision farming technologies—previously in the demonstration phase—and launched them domestically, establishing robotics and data-driven businesses as new growth pillars. In addition, to internalize and advance essential technologies such as artificial intelligence (AI) and robotics for agriculture, he founded related companies including Daedong AI Lab and Daedong Robotics, thereby strengthening key future business competencies.
Starting this year, Daedong will focus on strengthening its competitiveness in future businesses to respond to the industry’s shift toward AI and robotics. Building on the future business initiatives launched since 2020, the company aims to further enhance competitiveness in five core areas: precision agriculture, robotics, smart farming, AI agents, and connected solutions. Daedong’s goal is to become a leading AI and robotics company in both agricultural and non-agricultural sectors.
To achieve this, the group will pursue AX (AI Transformation) at the corporate level. Daedong plans to strengthen its data-driven decision-making framework and improve operational efficiency across the entire value chain, from R&D to production and services, thereby enhancing its business execution and productivity. The company also plans to expand the domestic and international rollout of future agricultural products such as AI-powered autonomous agricultural machinery, agricultural robots, precision agriculture solutions, and agricultural AI agents. Through this, Daedong aims to establish an integrated data management and AI-driven operational system for agriculture, securing a foundation for sustainable growth.
Wonyuhyun, CEO of Daedong, stated, "As I take on this significant responsibility again as CEO, I am committed to delivering tangible results from the future business initiatives we have prepared. Based on AI, data, and robotics, we will drive transformation in the field and grow Daedong into an AI robotics company leading innovation in agriculture."
