Disciplinary Measures Such as Suspension Imposed
"We Will Provide Guidance"
A video of freshmen smoking at a high school in Jeonnam has spread through social media networks (SNS), prompting the education authorities to launch an investigation.
According to the Jeonnam Office of Education on March 25, some male and female freshmen at a high school in Jeonnam were seen smoking or dancing in hallways and restrooms earlier this month, as confirmed through posts on SNS.
The footage shows a male student smoking while climbing the stairs and a female student smoking in what appears to be a restroom.
An investigation by the local education office and the school confirmed that the students involved were first-year freshmen. Some of the students had repeatedly violated school rules and accumulated disciplinary actions from the School Life Guidance Committee since their admission by refusing to follow teachers' instructions. As a result, the education authorities imposed disciplinary measures such as suspension of attendance on the students involved.
