Cultural Heritage Administration Closes Applications for Young Professionals and Site Managers
The Preparatory Planning Team for the 48th World Heritage Committee announced on the 24th that applications for both the World Heritage Young Professionals Forum and the World Heritage Site Managers Forum have closed. Both events will be held in connection with the 48th session of the UNESCO World Heritage Committee, which will take place in Korea for the first time this July.
The international community's interest in the World Heritage Committee was demonstrated by the number of applicants. The Young Professionals Forum, which will select 30 participants, received 56,326 applications from around the world between February 23 and March 15. The Cultural Heritage Administration, in consultation with the Korean National Commission for UNESCO and the World Heritage Centre, will conduct a fair evaluation of the 5,234 applicants who passed the first screening round to select the final participants.
