On March 23, the Gyeongsangnam-do Veterans Association held a press conference in the briefing room of the Gyeongnam Office of Education and officially declared their support for Kwon Sungi, a preliminary candidate for Gyeongnam Superintendent of Education. The association further emphasized, "Education is not just an issue for a single generation, but the foundation that determines the next generation of our nation," and stressed that "now is the time when we need a leader who can open the future with proven ability, not experimentation."
The Gyeongnam Veterans Association described Kwon Sungi as "a scholar who has led the field of education and research, and an educator with extensive administrative experience and balanced insight." The association explained its support by highlighting that he is "a leader with the insight to grasp the essence of education and the vision to foresee the future."
In particular, the Gyeongnam Veterans Association insisted that "the direction Gyeongnam's education must take is one that places children's potential at the center, fostering both competence and character."
