Shinsegae Department Store announced on March 22 that it will be holding a customer appreciation event at its Gangnam branch's "Shinsegae Market" until March 26 to mark the market's first anniversary.
Shinsegae Market is the third phase of the Gangnam branch's food hall renewal project and is a supermarket spanning approximately 600 pyeong (about 1,980 square meters), making it the largest among department stores in Seoul. It consists of three zones: fresh foods, a premium home meal section, and a grocery store. The market is praised for its comprehensive selection, suitable not only for everyday shopping but also for professional chefs. It also offers personalized services such as ingredient preparation, custom rice milling, and bespoke broth pack production.

View original imageFor the first anniversary celebration, a variety of events will be held, including a lineup of 100 top customer appreciation products, special spring seasonal ingredient promotions, and pop-up stores for popular brands in each category.
Special promotions will be offered on fresh foods, groceries, health foods, and alcoholic beverages. The specially priced items include not only popular products among customers but also items planned to be the lowest priced both online and offline.
Featured items include Geumsil strawberries (500g/1 pack) for 12,800 won, oranges (5 pieces) for 7,800 won, animal welfare eggs (15 eggs) for 5,800 won, Dalsu sweet potatoes (100g) for 620 won, Shinsegae Hanwoo beef sirloin (Grade 1/100g) for 12,900 won, Prime Pork samgyeopsal (100g) for 2,980 won, large hairtail (1 fish) for 39,800 won, abalone (5 pieces) for 20,000 won, Del Papa organic extra virgin olive oil (500ml) for 11,200 won, Maldon salt (250g) for 7,500 won, Flensburger Weizen (330ml) for 3,900 won, and HELLO N°6 Sussubori Makgeolli (500ml) for 8,100 won.
In addition, various spring seasonal ingredients such as octopus, Spanish mackerel, flounder, and flatfish, as well as spring herbs including wild chives and shepherd’s purse, will be delivered directly from their places of origin and sold. At the central event space in Shinsegae Market, popular brands that have been loved by customers over the past year, such as Sushidoku, Inakian Black, Haebangchon Dak, and Anseongmat Chum Hanwoo, will operate pop-up stores.
According to Shinsegae Department Store, Shinsegae Market’s sales over the past year increased by more than 30% compared to the same period last year. During the same period, the proportion of new customers entering through Shinsegae Market was about 30%, while the share of customers from regions outside Seoul exceeded 40%.
