It is also intended to support the effort to have GTX-B line trains stop at Galmae Station and to reinforce transportation links between Galmae Station and Sahmyook University.
Accordingly, Guri City and Sahmyook University agreed to cooperate in various areas of transportation connectivity, including: supporting the effort to have GTX-B line trains stop at Galmae Station; strengthening transportation links such as operating shuttle (village) buses between Sahmyook University and Galmae Station; and expanding and improving transportation infrastructure such as road networks.
In particular, the effort to have GTX-B line trains stop at Galmae Station is being emphasized as essential for the transportation convenience of approximately 60,000 residents in the Galmae area, future residents of the upcoming Taereung Public Housing District (expected to include 6,800 households), and about 7,000 Sahmyook University students and faculty members who commute from the metropolitan area.
Mayor Paik Kyunghyun stated, "Through this agreement, we will dramatically improve the transportation environment in the Galmae area, including Sahmyook University, and strive to ensure that the plan to have GTX-B trains stop at Galmae Station is confirmed by actively reflecting the increasing transportation demand and changes in local development conditions."
