The Yeoju Family Center (Director Park Jihyun) announced that it will significantly expand the "Support Project for Vulnerable and At-Risk Families (On Family Embrace Project)" in 2026, compared to previous years, to discover and support families facing complex difficulties.
The "On Family Embrace Project" is a customized integrated service not only for the socially vulnerable, but also for all families in need of restoring family functions and strengthening capabilities. Depending on the needs of each beneficiary, it provides multifaceted support including: ▲case management, ▲emergency crisis support, ▲counseling, ▲education and cultural programs, and ▲self-help groups.
The beneficiaries are broadly defined and include single-parent families, grandparent-grandchild families, families supporting elderly parents, adolescent parents, single-person households, multicultural families, original families of neglected children, and families at risk of divorce. In particular, priority is given to households with an income at or below 100% of the median income or low-income/non-benefit households with the will to become self-reliant. However, the threshold has been lowered so that households facing sudden crises, such as disasters or accidents, can receive emergency support regardless of income, based on crisis assessment and evaluation.
Core support in 2026 will include up to 1 million won per household for ▲psychological and emotional support, ▲referral to professional counseling agencies, and ▲emergency care support services. In addition, the center will focus on restoring healthy family relationships through the "supervised visitation service," which helps non-custodial parents and their children maintain positive relationships after divorce.
