Around 260,000 Fans from Around the World Expected to Gather
It is expected that the BTS concert to be held at Gwanghwamun Square in Seoul on March 21 will generate an economic impact of 266.3 billion won in just one day. This is projected to create an even greater economic ripple effect than "Swiftonomics," sparked by global pop star Taylor Swift.

Bloomberg estimated, "This far surpasses the average economic boost of $50 million to $70 million that Taylor Swift’s 'The Eras Tour' generated in each U.S. city." This concert marks BTS’s first full-group performance since their activities were suspended in 2022 due to military service. On the day of the event, approximately 260,000 fans are expected to gather at Gwanghwamun.
Based on Bloomberg's estimates using official 2022 data from the Korean Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism, projected revenue from upcoming concert ticket and merchandise sales alone is expected to exceed $800 million. Given the recent upward trend in concert ticket prices, total revenue is likely to grow even higher.
After this, BTS will hold 82 concerts in 34 cities worldwide, starting from April 9. The outlet reported that if these concerts proceed as scheduled, the group’s total revenue could surpass the $2.2 billion earned by Taylor Swift from 149 shows.

Furthermore, businesses are preparing for the expected influx of global customers on concert day—securing additional stock of high-demand items such as bottled water and extending operating hours.
