Changwon Mayoral Candidate Kang Giyoon Vows to Make Changwon the Top City for Jobs ... Pledges to Create 100,000 Jobs
Kang Giyoon, a preliminary candidate of the People Power Party for the Changwon Special City Mayor election in Gyeongnam, announced his policy pledges centered on creating 100,000 jobs through the clean energy industry.
On March 18, Kang held a press conference at the Changwon City Hall press center and declared, "I promise to make Changwon the number one city for jobs."
He diagnosed the current situation by stating, "Due to the nearly one-year vacancy of an elected mayor, major issues such as the Masan Marine New Town project have stalled, commercial stores and traditional markets are losing their vitality, and with the exception of general industries like defense and nuclear power, the engine of Changwon is cooling down."
He expressed confidence, saying, "Based on my experience of developing manufacturing in Changwon, participating in national administration as a two-term National Assembly member, and achieving management results at Korea South-East Power Co., Ltd., a public corporation, I will renew Changwon, revitalize the economy, and transform it into a city where citizens are happy."
