Pohang City Holds Completion Ceremony for Buksong Dullegil Parking Lot and Village Community Cafe
As Part of Earthquake Recovery Project:
Creating Community Spaces and Alleviating Parking Shortages
A Total Investment of KRW 3.8 Billion for a 60-Space Parking Lot and Cafe
Accelerating the Leap Toward 'Happy City Heunghae'
On March 17, Pohang City held a completion ceremony for the 'Buksong Dullegil Parking Lot and Village Community Cafe' in Oksong-ri, Heunghae-eup, with over 150 local residents and officials in attendance.
This project was established as part of the '11.15 Pohang Heunghae Earthquake-Affected Area Special Regeneration Project' (hereinafter referred to as the Heunghae Special Regeneration Project), which is being promoted to revitalize the economy and restore the community in the Heunghae area following the stagnation caused by the Pohang-triggered earthquake on November 15.
The ceremony was attended by Kim Boksoo, Director of Urban Safety and Housing, Kim Ilman, Chair of the Pohang City Council, as well as city and provincial council members, leaders of local organizations, and residents, who celebrated the completion.
The Buksong Dullegil Parking Lot and Village Community Cafe are expected not only to resolve parking difficulties for residents but also to serve as hubs that foster communication among neighbors, thereby creating significant synergy for community recovery.
A Pohang City official stated, "This completion ceremony marks a turning point for new changes that erase the scars of the earthquake and fill the city with hope," adding, "We will continue to do our best to make Pohang a safe and prosperous culturally advanced city that residents can truly experience in their daily lives."

Meanwhile, through the Heunghae Special Regeneration Project, Pohang City has been sequentially constructing the Heunghae Complex Community Center, a public library and Ainuri Plaza, Buk-gu Public Health Center, and Pohang Trauma Center, laying the foundation to overcome earthquake damage and progress toward 'Happy City Heunghae.'
