The county announced that on the 12th, it held the "2026 Yeongam County Hometown Love Donation Return Gift Supplier Meeting" at Dalbit Cheongchun Maru in Yeongam-eup.
The meeting was attended by 24 representatives of return gift suppliers, who shared updates on fundraising and return gift sales for the Hometown Love Donation Program from 2023 to 2025, and discussed online promotion and marketing strategies.
Additionally, the meeting provided an opportunity to hear about suppliers' difficulties and suggestions, such as the automatic registration of return gifts on the Yeongam Mall, separating the timing of donations and return gift applications, and excluding the provision of local currency as a return gift.
Lee Youngjoo, policy chief of the county’s Public Relations Strategy Office, said, "We are grateful to the return gift suppliers who have worked together to promote the Hometown Love Donation Program," adding, "We ask for your continued interest and cooperation so that Yeongam County’s Hometown Love Donation Program can continue to grow."

Meanwhile, the Hometown Love Donation Program is a system that allows individuals to donate up to 20 million won per year to metropolitan and basic local governments, excluding their place of residence. Donations of up to 100,000 won are fully tax-deductible, while amounts over 100,000 won and up to 200,000 won are eligible for a 44% tax deduction, and amounts over 200,000 won receive a 16.5% deduction. In addition, donors can receive return gifts, such as local specialties, within a limit of 30% of the donation amount.
