Gwangyang Port Commercializes Bunkering Based on Korea's Largest LNG Infrastructure
Simultaneous Bunkering and Unloading Operations
Approximately 1,100 Tons of LNG Supplied
Yeosu Gwangyang Port Corporation announced that it successfully completed LNG bunkering operations at the car terminal of Gwangyang Port from March 13 to 14, 2026.
Prior to the bunkering operation, the corporation conducted a joint inspection of the safety management system with related agencies and pre-checked operational procedures and emergency response systems, making safety the top priority throughout the process.

View original imageThis LNG bunkering was carried out for a car carrier vessel operated by Hyundai Glovis, supplying approximately 1,100 tons of LNG fuel using the Ship-to-Ship (STS) method.
In addition, fuel was supplied between vessels and vehicle unloading was performed simultaneously, minimizing port stay time during the bunkering process.
Gwangyang Port is recognized as the port with the largest LNG storage and supply infrastructure in Korea, and is considered to have optimal facilities for conducting LNG bunkering operations. Based on this infrastructure, the corporation plans to continuously expand its eco-friendly ship fuel supply capabilities in the future.
