According to the Gwangyang Police Station and other authorities on March 16, a report was received at 9:04 a.m. that day that Mr. A (46) had been pinned by a ship component at the factory of a shipbuilding company in Gwangyang-eup, Gwangyang City.
As a result of the accident, Mr. A sustained serious injuries to his body and was found at the scene in cardiac arrest. He was administered emergency cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) and transported to a nearby hospital.
At the time of the accident, heavy ship components were being moved inside the factory using a crane.
