Gyeonggi Province to Conduct Joint Inspection of Illegal Advertisements Around Schools for New School Term
The Gyeonggi Provincial Government will conduct a joint inspection with municipal and county authorities on illegal advertisements around schools until March 25, coinciding with the start of the new school term.
All 31 cities and counties in Gyeonggi Province will carry out their own inspections, while in four cities and counties—Seongnam, Gunpo, Pocheon, and Yangpyeong—a joint inspection will be carried out by both the provincial and municipal/county governments.
The inspection targets outdoor advertisements and posting facilities around schools, with particular focus on areas near kindergartens, elementary, middle, and high schools that are located within 300 meters of the main school entrance (child protection zones) and within 200 meters of the boundaries of educational environment protection zones.
The main inspection items include: ▲ safety checks and maintenance of old signboards ▲ comprehensive removal of illegal advertisements such as banners and flyers ▲ crackdown on illegal political party banners within child protection zones, among others.
In this inspection, the Gyeonggi Provincial Government plans to focus on removing political party banners installed in child protection zones, as well as banners that violate the "Prohibited Advertisement Application Guidelines" implemented by the Ministry of the Interior and Safety in November last year. If illegal advertisements are found during the inspection, administrative measures such as warnings, compulsory enforcement fines, and administrative fines will be imposed in accordance with relevant laws and regulations.
