View original imageOn March 13 local time, the Dubai Government Media Office announced, "Today, debris from a successful interception caused a minor incident in which it struck the exterior wall of a building in downtown Dubai," adding, "No injuries have been reported." The authorities did not disclose whether the intercepted object was a missile or a drone.
According to eyewitnesses, two loud explosions were heard in the morning, followed by plumes of black smoke. Due to the debris impact, companies such as Goldman Sachs and Citigroup, which are tenants in DIFC, switched to remote work on the same day.
The previous day, drone debris struck the exterior of a high-rise building on Sheikh Zayed Road, which runs through downtown Dubai, damaging part of the building's outer wall. On the same day, a drone directly collided with the upper exterior of Address Creek Harbour, a luxury hotel and apartment complex in Creek Harbour, Dubai's residential and business district, sparking a fire.

Iran has been launching concentrated attacks on the UAE in the Gulf region, citing strikes on U.S. military bases within the UAE as justification. According to the UAE Ministry of Defense, as of the previous day, a total of 278 ballistic missiles from Iran, 15 cruise missiles, and 1,540 drones had been intercepted.
