Building a Sustainable Tourism Coexistence Model with "Tourism Belt" Benefits for Coal Industry Transition Areas
High1 Resort, operated by Kangwon Land, is launching the “Spring of Shared Value” promotion, a regional coexistence cultural tourism activation project. This promotion aims to offer a variety of benefits to tourists visiting the Yeongwol area—which is garnering attention as the filming location of the movie “The Man Who Lives with the King”—as well as to local residents.
This promotion was designed to draw visitors from Yeongwol’s Danjong historical sites, such as Cheongryeongpo and Jangneung, to High1 Resort located in nearby Jeongseon, while also providing vacation benefits to local residents, thereby revitalizing the regional economy.
Running until April 30, this promotion is available to: ▲ Visitors holding entry tickets to Yeongwol’s Jangneung or Cheongryeongpo during the promotion month ▲ Residents of Gangwon Special Self-Governing Province ▲ Residents of seven coal industry transition areas (Jeongseon, Taebaek, Yeongwol, Samcheok, Mungyeong, Boryeong, and Hwasun).
Eligible customers will receive up to 80% off condo stays, 20% off at food and beverage outlets, and 70% off the Untan Mountain Trail Cable Car at High1 Resort.
Furthermore, if a promotion-eligible guest spends 70,000 won or more at the High1 Resort official merchandise pop-up store “Haengwoon Store,” they will receive an “ILLIYOON Travel Kit,” further enhancing visitor satisfaction.
Accommodation reservations can be made through the High1 Resort website or mobile app. To receive the discount, check-in must be completed by the local resident themselves or by someone holding an entry ticket to one of the designated tourist sites for the corresponding month.
