Hanwha Wins CDP "Carbon Management Sector Honors" for Third Consecutive Year
Awarded "Leadership A" in Climate Change Response Evaluation
Achievements in ESG, including Introduction of Renewable Energy and Greenhouse Gas Management
Hanwha has been selected for the "Carbon Management Sector Honors" in the industrials category at the "2025 CDP Korea Awards," hosted by the global environmental information disclosure evaluation agency CDP, achieving the honor for the third consecutive year.
Hanwha announced on March 10 that it was selected for the "Carbon Management Sector Honors" in the industrials category at the "2025 CDP Korea Awards," organized by CDP Korea Committee.
The Carbon Management Sector Honors is an award presented to companies that have achieved outstanding results by industry in CDP's climate change response evaluation. Hanwha earned the highest "Leadership A" rating in the industrials category for the second consecutive year, recognizing its climate response capabilities.
CDP (Carbon Disclosure Project) is a global non-profit organization that requests environmental management information disclosure—such as climate change, water security, forest resources, and biodiversity—from major companies worldwide, analyzes the data, and provides it to investors and stakeholders.
In 2025, approximately 22,100 companies worldwide were evaluated, and only about 4% achieved the highest A rating.
Hanwha is carrying out a variety of environmental management activities to address climate change. The company has joined "K-RE100," the Korean version of RE100, setting a goal to procure 100% of its electricity from renewable energy. Starting in 2025, Hanwha is introducing 5MW of renewable energy through direct power purchase agreements (PPAs).
Additionally, Hanwha is continuously promoting greenhouse gas reduction and energy efficiency activities at its business sites, while strengthening its carbon emission management system.
Furthermore, the company is operating company-wide, mid- to long-term climate and environmental risk management systems, including Scope 3 emissions management, climate risk and water stress analysis, and natural capital impact assessment.
