On March 10, Osan City in Gyeonggi Province (Mayor Lee Gwonjae) announced that it has installed "city boundary guide facilities (welcome signs)" at major entry points along the city's borders to enhance the first impression of the city and effectively convey its image even at night.
This project was implemented to deliver Osan's identity and a welcoming message to citizens and visitors, as well as to improve the environment at the city's entrances.
The welcome signs have been installed at seven key entry points along Osan City's borders. The locations are: ▲ 781-1, Busan-dong ▲ 656, Oesammi-dong ▲ 189, Dugok-dong ▲ 196, Galgot-dong ▲ 898-3, Naesammi-dong ▲ 594, Segyo-dong ▲ 821, Wondong and surrounding areas. The signs are positioned along major roads so that both drivers and pedestrians can easily recognize them.
Lighting has been incorporated into these installations to enhance visibility at night. The city expects these signs to help convey a bright and friendly urban image to those visiting Osan.
On March 6, Mayor Lee Gwonjae personally visited the sites to inspect the installation status and lighting effects, as well as to check facility management and citizen safety matters.
