From May 15 to 17, the opening days, the festival will kick off with the "Grand Rose Festival," a series of performances and programs that signal the start of the festivities.
Jungnang Rose Park, home to the nation's longest 5.45 km rose tunnel, is expected to turn the Jungnangcheon area into a sea of ten million roses during the festival. The Jungnang Seoul Rose Festival has established itself as one of Seoul's leading spring festivals, having attracted more than three million visitors for two consecutive years.
In preparation for the festival, the district has begun systematic maintenance, including rose pruning, weed removal, pest and disease control, and irrigation work. The district has completed the removal of hazardous trees along the Jungnangcheon embankment and is also strengthening the management of major planting areas such as Surimdae Park and the Ewha Bridge Rose Garden. Approximately 1 billion won will be invested to plant additional roses and companion plants and to refurbish aging facilities.
