Gangneung City Future Talent Development Foundation Launches IB English Camp
Recruiting 21 Middle School Students for IB Program in New Zealand and Australia
The Gangneung City Future Talent Development Foundation (Chairman Kim Sangyoung) has begun recruiting participants for the "2026 Global IB English Camp," aimed at strengthening the global competencies of local youth.
This camp is designed to move beyond rote memorization by fostering critical thinking through questions and discussions, utilizing the internationally accredited IB (International Baccalaureate) education program. The goal is to provide a platform for local students to develop into global leaders by completing the IB curriculum.
The foundation will recruit approximately 21 students from among second-year students at 12 middle schools in Gangneung City over a 15-day period from March 9 to March 27. Selected participants will visit New Zealand and Australia from July 19 to August 2 for a 15-day, 13-night program, where they will complete the official IB educational program and participate in local cultural exploration activities.
Recruitment categories include ▲Outstanding Global Competency Candidates and ▲Special Admissions (students from basic livelihood security and lower-income families). The final participants will be selected through a fair recommendation process based on each school's own selection criteria. In particular, for those selected through the special admissions track, all program expenses will be fully covered to help close educational gaps.
