LIG Nex1 Denies Reports of Employees Being Mobilized for Military Operations
Evacuation to Safe Areas in Coordination with Local Diplomatic Office
Phased Repatriation Planned Once Safety is Secured
LIG Nex1 has stated that recent reports claiming its employees on business trips to the Middle East were mobilized for military operations are not true.
On March 5, LIG Nex1 released a statement denying the allegations, saying, "The reports that our employees were mobilized for military operations are completely untrue."
Previously, some media outlets raised suspicions that employees of South Korean defense companies on assignment in the United Arab Emirates (UAE) were involved in local military operations. It is known that these personnel were dispatched to provide local military personnel training and support regarding the 'Cheongung-II' medium-range surface-to-air interception system exported by Korea.
Regarding this, LIG Nex1 explained, "In accordance with contractual obligations, employees on assignment locally completed evacuation to safe areas in close cooperation with the local diplomatic office when the situation arose." The company also clarified that claims suggesting these employees were not provided with even minimal safety equipment during their daily work are also not true.
The company added that it is currently prioritizing the safety of its employees and will proceed with their return home in phases as soon as safe routes are secured.
