Gijang County in Busan Allocates 9.3 Billion Won for Educational Expenses and Entrance Preparation Support
Largest Support Among Basic Local Governments in Busan
Entrance Celebration Grants and Uniform Purchase Assistance Also Provided
Gijang County is allocating a total of 9.3 billion won this year to support educational expenses and entrance preparation programs for children’s learning and development.
On March 5, Gijang County announced its plan to provide practical benefits that can be directly experienced by students and parents through tailored educational support covering all school-age groups, from kindergarten to high school. This level of support is the largest among basic local governments in Busan.
First, the county will provide a total of 1.2 billion won in entrance celebration grants and school uniform purchase support for new students entering elementary, middle, and high school. The purpose is to alleviate the financial burden on parents and help students adapt smoothly to their new school environments.
Additionally, for the first time among basic local governments in Busan, the county will support the purchase of learning materials for first-grade elementary school students and provide dishwashing expenses for private kindergartens. To this end, a separate 1.4 billion won has been allocated for educational expenses. By supporting learning materials for first-grade students, the county aims to reduce the burden of preparing essential school supplies at the start of school, and with support for dishwashing expenses at private kindergartens, it expects to enhance hygiene management standards for children’s meals.
Furthermore, the county plans to provide 8.1 billion won in educational expenses to 37 elementary, middle, high, and special schools and 34 kindergartens in the region for running educational programs and improving educational environments.
