The Mobile Mayor's Office is Hanam City's signature communications model, where the mayor visits busy, public sites to hear citizens’ opinions and reflect them in city policy, specifically designed for those who find it difficult to visit city hall in person.
This event was attended by Mayor Lee, as well as the heads of the Departments of Autonomous Administration, Economy and Culture, Urban Housing, and Transportation and Construction, along with other key senior officials, who directly listened to residents' concerns and discussed possible solutions.
Through the Mobile Mayor's Office, the city has so far collected a total of 294 civil complaints over 16 sessions, and is recognized for actively incorporating these opinions into municipal administration, thereby lowering bureaucratic barriers.
At the event, major local issues such as redevelopment and underground utility projects aimed at revitalizing the old downtown commercial area and achieving balanced development were discussed in depth. Residents proposed measures to boost local businesses, including traditional markets and alleyway stores, to expand underground electrical work in the old downtown, and to promote the development of the Yeokmal district.
Additionally, students from Namhan High School requested improvements to the school environment, including better transportation for commuting and sidewalk repairs. Mayor Lee responded, “We will take immediate action to ensure there is no disruption to your studies.”
Hanam City plans to continue operating the Mobile Mayor's Office throughout major residential areas for the first half of 2026, starting with this visit to Sinjang-dong. Specifically, the city will meet with citizens at the Misa Station clock tower on the 13th, at the Gam-il Complex Community Center on the 27th, and will conduct an on-site communication event at Wirye Starfield on April 3.
Civil complaints received on-site will undergo internal review by the responsible departments, and action plans will be formulated accordingly. The city has instructed that matters which can be resolved immediately should be handled on the spot, while mid- to long-term issues requiring budget allocation or coordination with related agencies will be thoroughly reviewed and the results individually communicated to the complainants.
