Gyeonggi Province Announces Public Recruitment for Private Consignment of International Development Cooperation Projects: 1.5 Billion Won for 8 Initiatives
The Gyeonggi Provincial Government is launching a public recruitment for 'private consignment agencies for international development cooperation projects' to address the climate crisis, bridge global gaps in education and healthcare, and promote the value of veterans' affairs.
This call for applications will allocate a budget of 1,542,000,000 won across eight sectors, including climate, education, healthcare, and veterans' affairs.
Gyeonggi Province plans to select private organizations with proven expertise and strong on-site execution capabilities, and will officially begin the projects starting in April.
Major international development cooperation projects include: ▲Gyeonggi Youth Climate Envoy Corps (Mongolia, Vietnam, Kyrgyzstan) ▲Strengthening environmental sustainability (Mongolia) ▲Improving educational environments for children (Nepal) ▲Enhancing global competencies (Vietnam) ▲Promoting the value of veterans (Ethiopia) ▲Strengthening healthcare services (Ethiopia) ▲Establishing global networks ▲Advancing systematic performance management of projects.
In particular, climate crisis response and environmental improvement projects are expected to contribute to expanding carbon sinks and strengthening community resilience. Support in the fields of education and healthcare aims to improve the quality of life for residents in vulnerable countries by renovating educational facilities, providing equipment, expanding medical infrastructure, and training professionals.
The veterans support project is expected to serve as a responsible public development assistance (ODA) initiative based on historical solidarity, strengthening the role of local governments in public diplomacy. In addition, measures for post-project management will be established to ensure the sustainable effectiveness of these projects, and the results will be analyzed to identify areas for improvement.
Gyeonggi Province also plans to contribute to the achievement of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), which are being pursued collectively by the international community, by establishing cooperative systems with local organizations, strengthening capacities, and advancing performance management systems even after the projects conclude.
Applications for this public recruitment will be accepted from the 11th to the 18th of this month, and related information can be found in the notices and announcements section on the official Gyeonggi Province website (gg.go.kr).
