Kwangjang Recruits Former Financial Services Commission Capital Market Investigation Head Sangrok Shin
Experience in Responding to Major International Disputes, Including the Lone Star Case
Kwangjang Law LLC announced on March 4 that it has recruited Sangrok Shin, a lawyer who previously served as the Head of the Capital Market Investigation Coordination Division at the Financial Services Commission.
Shin will join the Kwangjang financial group, where he is expected to focus on regulatory consulting, administrative response, investigations, and litigation for financial institutions, fintech companies, insurance companies, and asset management firms.
He majored in public administration at Yonsei University, obtained his master’s degree from the graduate school of Hanyang University, and completed the 35th Judicial Research and Training Institute program. After serving at the National Tax Tribunal of the Ministry of Strategy and Finance and the Tax Tribunal under the Prime Minister's Office, he was in charge of major practical and policy work at the Financial Services Commission and its affiliated organizations for approximately 14 years since 2012.
In particular, he held positions such as Head of the Capital Market Investigation Coordination Division at the Financial Services Commission, Head of Financial Data Policy Division, Head of System Operations Division at the Korea Financial Intelligence Unit, and Head of the Deliberation Support Team. He also gained experience in teams dealing with insurance and financial dispute resolution. His experience in leading major international dispute responses and investigations, including the Lone Star ISDS case, is expected to prove valuable in helping domestic and overseas financial institutions and companies respond to complex regulatory risks.
