Geumsan County to Support Egg and Sperm Freezing Costs for Residents at Risk of Permanent Infertility
Applications Must Be Submitted Within Six Months of Reproductive Cell Collection for Those Requiring Fertility Preservation Due to Medical Reasons
Geumsan County will provide partial financial support for egg and sperm freezing costs for residents who are at risk of permanent infertility and require fertility preservation.
The eligible recipients are men and women who are expected to experience reproductive function impairment due to medical reasons, such as undergoing cancer treatment or having their ovaries or testes removed. Those who meet the application criteria can receive support only once in their lifetime.
The support amount covers 50% of the out-of-pocket expenses, with a maximum of 2 million won for women and up to 300,000 won for men.
The coverage includes costs for examinations, ovulation induction, collection, freezing, and initial storage related to egg or sperm freezing. However, hospitalization fees or examination fees unrelated to the freezing and preservation of reproductive cells are excluded.
Applications can be submitted within six months from the date of reproductive cell collection by visiting the Maternal and Child Health Team at Geumsan County Public Health Center or through the Public Health Portal.
Required documents include a medical certificate issued by a healthcare institution, a certificate of freezing and preservation, and a receipt for medical expenses, among others.
