Daewoo E&C Apartment Communal Spaces Win German Design Award
Daewoo E&C announced on March 3 that the community spaces of Lacerbo Summit, constructed as part of the redevelopment of Haengdang District 7 in Seongdong-gu, Seoul, have received the main award at the 2026 iF Design Award. The award is organized by the International Forum Design in Germany, and Daewoo E&C has won for five consecutive years from 2022 to this year. Following last year’s recognition for the common facility space design at Blanc Summit 74, the company was again awarded for its design of resident communal areas.

The award-winning community spaces at Lacerbo Summit reflect a modern Korean design concept. The company reinterpreted the traditional Korean architectural idea of ‘chagyeong’ (borrowed scenery) in a contemporary way, seamlessly connecting exterior landscapes with interior spaces. Traditional elements such as hanji (Korean paper) and lattice designs were reimagined. Daewoo E&C explained that the award was given because the project differentiated itself by emphasizing Korean identity as a key theme, allowing residents to experience Korean sensibility and elegance in everyday life.
